Youth Service Visioning

All public sector organisations are undergoing a period of transformation. Budgets have been cut and there have been changes in both national and local government policy direction which have to be implemented.

Chris Hounsell Associates Ltd is working with Bath and North East Somerset Youth Service which has recently undergone significant organisational change and now has a different focus for its work and a smaller management team. We are providing additional capacity in the short term to review the vision and mission for the Service.

Working with managers, the staff team and key stakeholders, including young people and the community, the task is to clarify the contribution the Service is now making to learning and support provision for young people in the area and then to communicate the new role of the Service to all stakeholders.

The outcome of this piece of work is that everyone in the area will know what the Bath and North East Somerset Youth Service is, what it does and what it stands for.

Support for Small Businesses

We are currently supporting a local Council by putting together a bid to a small grants fund to set up a network for local small businesses.

The Council needs to encourage local people to use local businesses and the network will support the Council in achieving this by producing and maintaining a directory of local businesses. The network will also provide mutual support for members, particularly start-up businesses, and will ensure there is effective dialogue between the local business community and the Council.
